Playtopia begins as a game. Eight children from different countries, strangers to one another, are brought into a vast white space with no rules and a single invitation: to show how people live. Through play, negotiation, boredom, and invention, they build and dismantle a world together. Interwoven are fragments filmed by the children themselves, glimpses of life beyond the room. Staying with play over time, Playtopia watches a world take shape and slowly come undone.
